Amid the demand for new authentication mechanisms that do not rely on traditional passwords, the FIDO Alliance aims to achieve both security and convenience by developing specifications and certifying simple and robust authentication technology that utilizes public key cryptography. We are striving to standardize and popularize the program.
Phishing-resistant FIDO authentication has finally entered the stage of widespread use, and FIDO authentication can now be used for login and payment services to services provided by many domestic companies. Major browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari already support FIDO2/Web authentication, and the environment in which FIDO authentication is used in various fields is expanding.
Passkeys, which Apple, Google, and Microsoft also announced support for last year, are now available on all major platforms, and it is expected that a passwordless environment using FIDO authentication will become even better next year.
FIDO authentication is attracting more attention than ever before as a phishing-resistant online authentication, and this time, the 10th FIDO Tokyo will be held with the theme of “~Towards a world without passwords, the spread of passkeys and future prospects~” We have decided to hold the seminar face-to-face.
In this seminar, we plan to introduce the latest status of FIDO authentication, the status of passkey support by major platform companies, the activities of the FIDO Alliance and FIDO Japan WG, and examples of passkey implementation at domestic and overseas member companies and government agencies. In addition, with the spread of FIDO certification globally, we will also hold panel sessions and other events in order to deepen the understanding of companies and organizations considering implementing FIDO certification in the short, medium and long term. We plan to talk about the effects of introducing FIDO authentication and future prospects.
This seminar will be held face-to-face, and we will provide opportunities for networking with visitors and demo exhibitions by sponsoring companies. This will be an opportunity for you and the lecturers to get to know each other better, so we look forward to your visit.
