FIDO Alliance and NIST Workshop: Draft of NIST SP 800-63-4

FIDO Alliance co-hosting September 13^th workshop with NIST to discuss the latest draft of NIST SP 800-63-4

We are pleased to offer members the opportunity to participate in an industry workshop with the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) to discuss the most recent draft of NIST’s Digital Identity Guidelines, SP 800-63-4.  A revised public draft was released for review on August 21^st (see https://www.nist.gov/news-events/news/2024/08/nist-releases-second-public-draft-digital-identity-guidelines-final-review) and comments are due October 7^th.  In advance of that deadline, NIST will be joining a half-day workshop on Friday September 13^th in Washington DC – the day after the Identity Week conference ends – that will allow FIDO members to hear from NIST in person about the new draft, as well as share feedback.  The event will be hosted at Venable LLP’s offices; FIDO and the Better Identity Coalition are collaborating to make this workshop happen.  

This will be an in-person only event – there will not be an option for remote participation.  Given limited space, we request that organizations limit attendees to two people per company.  The event will kick off at 9:30am and run until 2pm; lunch will be served.  We will also provide a light breakfast starting at 8:30 a.m. Note this is a private event; no media will attend, and the Chatham House Rule will apply.
