11th FIDO Tokyo Seminar – Toward a World Without Passwords

December 12 @ 12:00 pm 7:00 pm Japan/Tokyo

~Further Expansion of Passkey and Future Prospects~

In response to the demand for a new authentication mechanism that does not rely on conventional passwords, the FIDO Alliance is working to establish specifications for a simple and robust authentication technology that uses public key cryptography, standardize certification programs, and promote the use of this technology with the aim of achieving both security and convenience.

Phishing-resistant FIDO authentication has finally reached the point of full-scale adoption as a passkey, and is now available for login and payment services offered by many domestic companies. 2022 passkeys, which Apple, Google, and Microsoft have announced they will support, are now available on all Passkeys, which Apple, Google, and Microsoft have announced they will support in 2022, are now available on all major platforms, and passkeys from credential manager providers are increasing user choice and freedom, which is expected to further accelerate login and authentication with passkeys.

The 11th FIDO Tokyo Seminar will be held in person under the theme of “Further Expansion of Passkey and Future Prospects.

In this seminar, we will introduce the latest status of FIDO authentication, including passkey support by major platforms, activities of FIDO Alliance and FIDO Japan WG, and case studies of passkey implementation by member companies and government agencies in Japan and abroad. In addition, we will also present the benefits and future prospects of passkey implementation through panel sessions, etc., in order to deepen the understanding of all companies and organizations that are considering passkey implementation against the backdrop of the global spread of FIDO authentication.

In addition, the Passkey Hackathon held at Google Japan in June this year and sessions in the academic area will be held to provide participants with multifaceted insights into the latest research results and technology trends in depth.
