AWS has announced the introduction of FIDO passkeys for multi-factor authentication (MFA) to further secure customer accounts. This move aligns with AWS’s objective to offer a secure cloud environment by incorporating secure-by-design and safe-by-default principles. FIDO passkeys offer a strong and easy MFA option, leveraging public key cryptography to resist phishing attempts and enhance overall account protection.
