By using authentication mechanisms built into a users own device offering heightened security, passkeys are expected to replace passwords in the near future. Backed by Apple, Google, and Microsoft, passkeys are built on WebAuthn tech and stored directly on your device, making them more secure than passwords or PINs which can easily be stolen.
