Security credentials traditionally have been provisioned during chip manufacturing, often as a final part of the testing process. That’s starting to change. Of the approaches, FIDO Device Onboard (FDO) appears to provide the broadest coverage. “It’s a true open industry standard that’s now being supported by every major platform and operating system on the planet,” said Andrew Shikiar, executive director and chief marketing officer at the FIDO Alliance.
