Google Blog: Beyond passwords: a roadmap for enhanced user security

FIDO Security Keys are easier to use and more secure than other forms of 2FA, and solve the problem of man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks by providing cryptographic proof that the user is in possession of the second factor and that they’re interacting with a legitimate service, reports the Google blog.
