The system handles the transfer securely and locally, so you don’t have to worry about exporting plaint text CSV files and crossing your fingers that nothing gets exposed.
Passkey portability is built on a new standard from the FIDO Alliance that lets apps exchange credentials in a private and encrypted way. It uses Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode to approve the transfer. From the user’s perspective, it just works. And that’s exactly how it should be.
