The FIDO Alliance to deliver “Future of Authentication Vision” at COMPUTEX Taipei, Asia’s largest and the world’s second largest ICT show

Mountain View, CA. and Taipei – COMPUTEX – May 27, 2014 – FIDO Alliance visionary Ramesh Kesanupalli will present the “Future of Authentication” on June 4 at COMPUTEX TAIPEI. FIDO Alliance members EgisTec, Nok Nok Labs, and others will follow Mr. Kesanupalli in a panel discussion of FIDO authentication.

COMPUTEX TAIPEI is now Asia’s largest and the world’s second largest ICT show. COMPUTEX TAIPEI is among the world’s leading platforms for introducing ICT procurement, new products and technology applications. Since 1981, COMPUTEX TAIPEI has progressed as the world’s ICT grows and transforms. Every year top ICT elites, innovators, and entrepreneurs from every corner of the world gather to showcase the most advanced and innovative ICT products, attracting more than 38,000 international visitors.

Egis Technology Inc. (EgisTec), a FIDO Alliance member based in Asia, is driving efforts with COMPUTEX to bring the FIDO Alliance face to face with the Asia market. In addition to the panel of June 4, EgisTec and founding FIDO Alliance board member Nok Nok Labs will deliver a keynote address about FIDO authentication in one of the major Forums, IoT (Internet of Things). This Forum explores the coming lifestyle revolution being ushered in by IoT! IoT promises to change everything in the way people drive, shop, watch TV, and manage a world increasingly populated with intelligent devices and mechanisms. IDC reports IoT related revenue will expand from $4.8 trillion in 2012 to $7.3 trillion by 2017. IoT is driving small to large-scale smart solutions that are shaping networked connections to become more relevant and valuable than ever before. IoT beckons a giant leap forward where connected technology joins unified interface design. The FIDO Alliance keynote will address how a unified authentication architecture, focused on stronger, simpler, and private authentication facilitates an IoT deployment.

FIDO specifications will support a full range of authentication technologies, including biometrics such as fingerprint, eye and iris scanners, voice and facial recognition, as well as further enabling existing solutions and communications standards, such as Trusted Platform Modules (TPM), USB Security Tokens, embedded Secure Elements (eSE), Smart Cards, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), and Near Field Communication (NFC). FIDO specifications allow the interaction of technologies within an interoperable infrastructure, enabling authentication choice to meet the distinct needs of users and organizations.

Nok Nok Labs, an innovator in modern authentication and founding member of the FIDO Alliance, provides the NNLTM S3 Authentication Suite, the first centralized platform that will enable the usage of a broad range of FIDO ReadyTM devices.

EgisTec, a member of FIDO Alliance, has cooperated and collaborated with other FIDO Alliance members to produce YuKey e-FIDO. The YuKey e-FIDO, a FIDO Ready™ product, exemplifies how FIDO would solve the problems that users face with creating and maintaining tedious usernames and passwords for accessing online resources.

About The FIDO Alliance
The FIDO (Fast IDentity Online) Alliance, demo.cyberxautomation.com/fido, was formed in July 2012 to address the lack of interoperability among strong authentication technologies, and remedy the problems users face with creating and remembering multiple usernames and passwords. The Alliance plans to change the nature of authentication by developing standards-based specifications for simpler, stronger authentication that define an open, scalable, interoperable set of mechanisms that reduce reliance on passwords. FIDO authentication is stronger, private, and easier to use when authenticating to online services.
