Efforts are underway to develop new approaches to change means of authentication that move away from traditional approaches such as passwords and move to alternative means to make authentication fast, simple, and stronger. Hear from the key players working to develop, define, and support technical standards that make authentication simpler, and stronger. Members of the FIDO alliance are at the forefront working to deploy authentication technologies that define an open, scalable, interoperable set of mechanisms that supplant reliance on passwords to securely authenticate users of online services. The panel will also consider how FIDO authentication is designed to protect users against many of today’s cyber-attacks and vulnerabilities, given that the FIDO model is based on the premise that user credentials never leave the user’s device.
