SUMMARY:FIDO Alliance Speaking at the HIP Conf 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join FIDO Alliance’s CTO\, Nishant Kaushik for a presentation at the HIP Conf 2026 in Nashville\, TN. \n\n\n\nThe Security Upgrade You Can Deploy TodayWednesday\, September 9\, 2026\, 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM \n\n\n\nEnterprises have chased passwordless authentication for years\, but many initiatives stalled under the weight of complex deployments\, clunky user experiences\, and operational friction. Passkeys are changing that equation. Built on FIDO Alliance standards and the WebAuthn ecosystem\, passkeys deliver phishing-resistant authentication while dramatically simplifying logins for users\, making true passwordless a realistic goal for workforce environments. \n\n\n\nThis discussion examines the state of passkey adoption in enterprises today\, separating hype from reality. We’ll take a look at common misconceptions about how passkeys work in corporate environments and the key architectural and operational decisions that determine success—from device strategy and enrollment flows to rollout sequencing and UX design. Whether you’re just starting your passwordless journey or scaling an existing deployment\, you’ll leave with a clear\, practical framework for making passkeys a durable part of your identity modernization strategy.

SUMMARY:FIDO Sponsored Webinar | AI\, Fraud\, and the New Authentication Playbook for Financial Institutions
DESCRIPTION:Financial institutions are facing unprecedented pressure as AI accelerates both the speed and sophistication of fraud attacks. Passwords—already the weakest link in authentication—are quickly becoming indefensible in this evolving threat landscape. This webinar examines how transitioning to passwordless authentication and deploying passkeys—both synced software passkeys and hardware‑bound\, high‑assurance passkeys—helps financial institutions improve cyber‑resiliency\, strengthen security\, reduce account‑takeover risk\, and future‑proof their digital channels. \n\n\n\n\nWatch On Demand\n\n\n\n\nSponsored by

SUMMARY:FIDO Sponsored Webinar| MFA and Identity Verification: Building on a Hardware Root of Trust
DESCRIPTION:Passkeys are transforming authentication\, but two gaps remain: adoption isn’t universal\, and the registration and recovery flows behind them are still soft. That is where SMS OTP and AI-driven attacks persist. This session explores how the cryptographic key already in every SIM\, tied to the phone number\, can harden those flows and complement passkeys on the road to passwordless. A conversation with Glide\, AT&T\, T-Mobile\, and Verizon on what it takes for the ecosystem to close the gap. \n\n\n\nKey Takeaways \n\n\n\n\nPasskeys solved phishing at login; registration and recovery remain the soft spots where SMS OTP and AI-driven fraud persist.\n\n\n\nThe SIM’s cryptographic key\, tied to the phone number\, is a device-bound\, person-linked factor that complements passkeys.\n\n\n\nClosing the gap at scale is a coalition effort across carriers\, standards bodies\, and relying parties.\n\n\n\n\nSponsored by

DESCRIPTION:FIDO Alliance’s Authenticate U.S. Conference will take place October 19-21\, 2026 at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad\, California. \n\n\n\nRegistration\n\n\n\nLast year’s conference welcomed over 875+ total attendees in Carlsbad and remotely\, and featured more than 150+ sessions with highly engaging content\, plus a sold-out exhibit area with 50+ industry-leading exhibitors and sponsors. \n\n\n\nAuthenticate is the industry’s only conference dedicated to digital identity and authentication with a focus on phishing-resistant sign-ins with passkeys. Join CISOs\, business leaders\, product managers\, security strategists and identity architects at Authenticate to advance your knowledge of digital identity and authentication. \n\n\n\n\nRegister Now\n\n\n\n\nAgenda\n\n\n\nThe focus of the Authenticate U.S. 2026 program is “New Frontiers.” Trust and simplicity have become the defining challenges of modern identity systems\, and passkeys have now proven at global scale that strong security and great usability do not have to be at odds. The next frontier is applying this principle across the entire account lifecycle\, from secure account creation\, to digital credentials that are recognized across services\, to agentic authentication that ensures verified humans stand behind every AI agent acting on their behalf. \n\n\n\nThis year’s agenda reflects where the ecosystem is heading next: digital credentials\, payments\, and authentication for trusted AI agents\, not just people. If you want to see where authentication is going – not just where it’s been – then you need to be in Carlsbad this October. \n\n\n\nSpeakers\n\n\n\nThis year’s event will showcase keynotes and sessions led by top executives and industry leaders at the forefront of the passwordless movement.

SUMMARY:FIDO Tokyo Seminar
DESCRIPTION:Toward a World Without Passwords\n\n\n\n— Passkeys Today and Beyond —\n\n\n\nFIDO Alliance\, which drives the standardization of technical specifications and certification programs for online authentication that replaces passwords\, has decided to hold its 13th seminar since 2014. \n\n\n\nAmid growing demand for authentication that does not rely on passwords\, FIDO Alliance has worked to balance security and convenience by developing simple\, robust authentication technology based on public-key cryptography\, standardizing certification programs around it\, and promoting its adoption. Since last year\, the Alliance has broadened its focus beyond passkey authentication alone to encompass the entire account lifecycle through digital credentials. \n\n\n\nThis year marks the 13th FIDO Tokyo Seminar\, which will once again be held in person. \n\n\n\nLast year’s 12th FIDO Tokyo Seminar\, themed “The Effectiveness of Passkeys Against Phishing and the Latest Trends\,” generated significant momentum toward passkey adoption. That momentum has only accelerated this year. Following an incident of unauthorized access to brokerage accounts last year\, Japan’s Financial Services Agency (FSA) revised its “Comprehensive Guidelines for Supervision of Financial Instruments Business Operators\, etc.\,” clarifying the requirement to implement phishing-resistant multi-factor authentication. The Japan Securities Dealers Association (JSDA) likewise revised its guidelines\, calling on member firms to implement passkeys and similar measures for critical operations such as login\, withdrawals\, and account changes. JSDA joined FIDO Alliance as a liaison member\, and in response to the revised guidelines\, securities firms have moved steadily toward passkey adoption. This trend extends well beyond the securities industry: passkeys are being adopted across a wide range of sectors and services\, and are becoming a standard authentication method for consumer-facing services. \n\n\n\nIn December of last year\, FIDO Alliance also established a new Digital Credentials Working Group (DCWG) and began working in earnest on digital credentials — enabling identity documents such as driver’s licenses and passports to be securely stored and presented via digital wallets. Drawing on the interoperability expertise\, including cross-device use\, developed through passkey adoption\, FIDO Alliance is advancing standardization in this space\, including the development of certification programs for wallets. The goal is to build a cross-industry\, interoperable framework that allows credentials to be presented securely online\, giving service providers confidence in accepting them. \n\n\n\nIn addition\, this past April FIDO Alliance established a new working group\, the Agentic Authentication Technical Working Group\, to address the role AI agents play in authentication and digital credential scenarios. Looking ahead\, AI agents are expected to act on people’s behalf across a wide range of areas\, including internal approval and authorization processes. The Payment Technical Working Group is also examining scenarios in which AI agents make online purchases and payments on an individual’s behalf. \n\n\n\nIn each of these scenarios\, a key emerging challenge is how to authenticate that an AI agent is genuinely acting as the authorized representative of the person or organization it claims to represent\, and operating within its approved scope. This seminar will introduce FIDO Alliance’s latest efforts and initiatives in this area. \n\n\n\nUnder the theme “Passkeys Today and Beyond\,” the seminar will share the latest trends in passkey adoption in Japan and offer practical insights for any company or organization considering passkey adoption. \n\n\n\nWe look forward to your participation. \n\n\n\n* Program details are still being finalized and will be announced as they are confirmed. \n\n\n\nEvent Overview\n\n\n\n\nDate & Time: Friday\, December 4\, 2026 — Doors open 12:00 p.m. / Program begins 1:00 p.m.\n\n\n\nVenue: Tokyo Port City Takeshiba\, Port Hall (Minato-ku\, Tokyo)\n\n\n\nCapacity: 300 attendees (Networking reception: 100 attendees; registration closes once capacity is reached)\n\n\n\nAdmission: Free (advance registration required)\n\n* A fee of ¥2\,000 (tax included) will be collected at reception for the networking session; a receipt will be provided.\n\n\n\n* Student discount: ¥1\,000 (tax included) — please present a student ID at reception.\n\n\n\n\n\nHost: FIDO Alliance\n\n\n\n\nSponsors\n\n\n\nSilver Sponsors: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFeatured Speakers (tentative) \n\n\n\n* Program and speaker details will be announced separately once finalized \n\n\n\n\nAndrew Shikiar\, CEO and Executive Director\, FIDO Alliance\n\n\n\nChair / Vice Chair\, FIDO Japan Working Group\n\n\n\nSpeakers from major platform providers on Digital Credentials and Agentic AI sessions (to be confirmed)\n\n\n\nGuest speakers and sponsor companies (to be confirmed)\n\n\n\n\n\nRegister Now
