FIDO, The Cornerstone of Identity Security

Dealing with the changes during Covid-19 pandemic, people rely more and more on on-line activities. At the same time, hackers increasingly can exploit system vulnerabilities, use social engineering and phishing attacks on information systems of enterprises and governments to steal personal information and business secrets. All these challenges really pose a serious threat to corporate sustainability, public trust in government, and the welfare of citizens.

There is an urge for a Zero-Trust approach to cybersecurity protection, and the key word is “Identity.” The open authentication standards established by the international organization, FIDO Alliance, provide a globally available, phishing-resistant solution for secure identity and authentication for organizations seeking to build zero trust environments.

Considering Taiwan Government’s efforts on smart country and digital industry, and being a key role in the global semiconductor and information and communication industries, FIDO Alliance will hold the Q1 International Symposium on February 6, 2023, at Marriott Hotel Taipei. The agenda will feature introductions to FIDO standards for user authentication and IoT, case studies from companies in Taiwan and globally on how they are using FIDO, and more.
