Identity, Authentication and the Road Ahead: A Cybersecurity Policy Forum

Sponsored by: Better Identity Coalition, ID Theft Resource Center, FIDO Alliance, and National Cyber Security Alliance.

October 16, 2019 @ 8:00 am 4:00 pm

So far 2019 has been yet another year where identity is the most exploited attack vector in online breaches. Passwords keep getting phished, new account fraud is at a record high, and companies and consumers continue to struggle to prove that they are not a proverbial “dog on the Internet.”

On Wednesday, October 16, the Better Identity Coalition, the FIDO Alliance, the ID Theft Resource Center (ITRC), and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCSA) will come together to present “Identity, Authentication, and the Road Ahead: A Cybersecurity Policy Forum.”

This full-day event will feature:

  • Keynotes from Congressman Bill Foster, Microsoft’s Alex Weinert, and other government and industry leaders
  • A fireside chat with identify theft victims – detailing the pain and damage caused by vulnerabilities in America’s identity systems
  • Discussions on new changes to government policy that will help to address pain points in our identity infrastructure
  • Updates on new products and standards like FIDO that can make authentication both more secure and easier to use for industry and government alike
  • Discussions on what can be done to drive better identity in America

  • Jeremy A. Grant, Managing Director of Technology Business Strategy, Venable LLP
  • Congressman Bill Foster
  • Alex Weinert, Program Manager for Identity Security and Protection, Microsoft Group
  • Eva Velasquez, President and CEO, The ID Theft Resource Center
  • Andrew Shikiar, Executive Director & CMO, FIDO Alliance
