Cybersecurity Policy Forum – Washington, DC
November 2, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 3:00 pm EDT
Identity and Authentication: The Road AheadPresented by: FIDO Alliance, the National Cyber Security Alliance, and the Better Identity Coalition
Last year, 16.7 million Americans were victims of identity fraud; $16.8 billion was lost to this fraud as we saw a 389% increase in the number of records containing identity information that was breached.
Identity information isn’t just what’s being stolen; identity itself provided the attack vector in 81% of these breaches – with the bulk of them seeing attackers exploit weak or stolen passwords to access systems and steal data. Embracing high-assurance strong authentication and identity tools is essential to stopping breaches and improving the nation’s cybersecurity posture.
On Friday, November 2 (the “33rd day of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month) the FIDO Alliance, the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA), and the Better Identity Coalition will come together to hold a policy forum hosted by Venable, LLP. Participants will examine the importance of better identity and authentication to cybersecurity and discuss the roles government and industry should play to improve the state of identity security in 2019.

Improving Security and Enabling Innovation in Financial Services and FinTech
